Komoot is your route to adventure. It’s home to one of the world’s largest communities of outdoor enthusiasts, and as the company’s Copy Team Lead, I write the words that inject a little more adventure into the lives of millions around the world — each and every day.
Since joining the company in 2017, I’m proud to say that I’ve worked to grow the product from a DACH-first route planner to an industry-leading source of adventure inspiration used by millions around the world. I’ve helped evolve the brand into a name that’s recognised and loved in 12 new languages, engaging millions of users and driving acquisition through strategic project management, campaign execution and effective translation. From email campaigns, landing pages, blog posts, product campaigns and in-app copy; I personally design, write and manage the translation of it all. I also manage a growing team of 26 freelancers and 1 in-house copywriter, autonomously hiring, managing and giving feedback to the team to ensure komoot remains industry-leading.
- Single-handedly built the company’s CI guidelines, style guides and tone of voice packs, playing a leading role in transitioning the brand from a German-language first application to one of the world’s biggest outdoor communities with over 22 million users worldwide.
- I autonomously planned and executed the translation of the entire komoot ecosystem (which equates to a little more than one Catcher in the Rye) into 10 additional languages.
- Grew the copy team from a department of 1 to 26 passionate copywriters and translators.
